Diabetes developed when the body doesn’t make enough insulin or is not able to use it efficiently. In the situation when insulin do not respond, glucose starts building up in the blood instead of being absorb by the cell in the body which leads to prediabetes or diabetes.
The two main types of diabetes are Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes and the third type is gestational diabetes which developed only during pregnancy.
Type 1 Diabetes or insulin- dependent diabetes which is often called “juvenile” diabetes is the more severe firm of diabetes. With this form of diabetes, the body’ s immune system attacks part of its own pancreas. Type 1 diabetes usually developed in children and teenagers even though it can developed at any age.
Type 2 Diabetes or insulin- independent diabetes is the most common form of diabetes. People with this form of diabetes are able to produce their own insulin though it is not often enough. These insulin produced, try to serve as a key to open the body’s cell to allow glucose to enter but most often the cell would not open and when this happens, it is called insulin resistance.
Type 2 diabetes are tied with people who are overweight and live a sedentary lifestyle. Treatment in this case focuses on diet and exercise. Oral medications and or insulin injection when the blood sugar levels are still high.
